0301 The Alistair Watkins Show – A New Presiminister

That’s right, the third season is here.  There’s a new intro/outro, a new member, and a new format.  Awesomeness ensues.

In this episode, Turkebeneministan gets a new presiminister, Bret gets a new job (what’s new, eh?), and the new guy gives us an update on killer cookies.

The Horrors of Spider Island

———————————————————–

It’s pretty awesome outside tonight.  I also need a digital SLR camera.  Or I could permanently steal Robby’s.

CNN

In case you haven’t heard (or have simply become deaf to my narcissistic comments), I was on CNN!  I wasn’t credited, but there was a segment of viral videos, and the latest Eric Whitacre’s Virtual Choir piece made it on.  It includes the piece of the video that features me.

Actually, except for the viral videos segment, I hate CNN.  It is my least favorite news channel.

Anyway, here’s the link (at about 3 minutes is when the choir clip begins):  http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/tech/2010/04/03/nr.levs.viral.video.04.03.cnn?hpt=T2

If we evah a-needed ta blog before, we shoah do need to now….

That’s a song reference, by the way.  Maybe you’ll get it, or maybe you’ll just stop reading now and go do something productive.  Anyway….

Remember how much I love Eric Whitacre’s music?  Well, we did a second Youtube choir thing with his music.  This time he conducted it himself.  And I again joined the ranks of the bass 2s.  Here’s the most amazing video.  And you’ll see me right in the middle above Whitacre, then zoomed all the way in at about 1:30.  I don’t know why, but it seems besides Whitacre and the soloist, I’m the only one on whom the producer zoomed in (on in which the producer zoomed? stupid English).

You should watch it in 1080p and rate it on Youtube here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7o7BrlbaDs.  It is amazing.  Also, you should join next time.  I’ll keep ya posted.

0204 The Alistair Watkins Show – White Elephants

First of all, we’re sorry.  We’re sorry we have lives.  We’re sorry that we cannot put them off for a while and make you videos all the time.  Secondly, you’re welcome for the new show.  We filmed it two weekends ago and finished it up today.  Yeah.  Enjoy!

Also, It’s snowed every weekend for a month.  It has also melted every following day.  It’s stupid.  I like snow, but in large quantities and play-on-able.  Skiing and tubing for the win!  Tennessee for the fail!

Watch it.  It is amazing.  Also, it’s completely computer generated.  Wow.

I did this a long time ago and now I haven't written anything in a while so here it is for your enjoyment.

The title says almost everything.  It doesn’t tell you that this is from my journalism major days, and that yes, my hair was that long.  It’s a magazine one-page ad.

Also, it doesn’t tell you that I can now dunk, as of 14 January 2010.  That’s kind of exciting, I guess.

Anyway, click on the pic to enlarge it.

Grapefruit

Not only is grapefruit the most amazing thing since apples, the juice of which has given Robby and I a good way to spend money at the cafeteria, a couple of great musicians have decided to name their band an English phonetic version of the French version of the name of it. Okay, I’ll explain: pamplemousse = French word for grapefruit; Pomplamoose = name of their band. Jack Conte and Nataly Dawn both do solo stuff as well. One of my favorites:

Anyway, you can find their collaborative efforts on this page: http://www.pomplamoose.com/
Jack Conte here: http://www.jackcontemusic.com/
And Nataly Dawn here: http://www.youtube.com/user/natalydawn
