If we evah a-needed ta blog before, we shoah do need to now….

That’s a song reference, by the way.  Maybe you’ll get it, or maybe you’ll just stop reading now and go do something productive.  Anyway….

Remember how much I love Eric Whitacre’s music?  Well, we did a second Youtube choir thing with his music.  This time he conducted it himself.  And I again joined the ranks of the bass 2s.  Here’s the most amazing video.  And you’ll see me right in the middle above Whitacre, then zoomed all the way in at about 1:30.  I don’t know why, but it seems besides Whitacre and the soloist, I’m the only one on whom the producer zoomed in (on in which the producer zoomed? stupid English).

You should watch it in 1080p and rate it on Youtube here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7o7BrlbaDs.  It is amazing.  Also, you should join next time.  I’ll keep ya posted.

Grapefruit

Not only is grapefruit the most amazing thing since apples, the juice of which has given Robby and I a good way to spend money at the cafeteria, a couple of great musicians have decided to name their band an English phonetic version of the French version of the name of it. Okay, I’ll explain: pamplemousse = French word for grapefruit; Pomplamoose = name of their band. Jack Conte and Nataly Dawn both do solo stuff as well. One of my favorites:

Anyway, you can find their collaborative efforts on this page: http://www.pomplamoose.com/
Jack Conte here: http://www.jackcontemusic.com/
And Nataly Dawn here: http://www.youtube.com/user/natalydawn

I'll Be Home for Dinner (Another Thanksgiving Carol)

Here’s another one. Robby still doesn’t have time. I don’t either, but I couldn’t pass up this idea.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Or, download it so you can play it everywhere, all the time!!!!!

And for the lyrics:

I’ll be home for dinner;
you can count on me
give me corn and pumpkin pie,
and dressed and stuffed turkey

TV’s on for football,
cheering on our teams
before long, my clothes feel wrong,
they’re bursting at the seams

Remember "Thanksgiving Tree"?

In the tradition of our extra-special AWShow we did last November, I’ve recorded myself in several layers singing a new Thanksgiving carol. I hope Robby forgives me for stealing his idea for a song, but he wasn’t here to help me with it, so it’s not all my fault. I may help him do another one later.

–edit–
I almost forgot to put the words in here:

silent night, terrible night
people drop left and right
’round the camp they look for a cure
lack of vitamins won’t help, for sure
death from scurvy is here,
death from scurvy is here

silent night, terrible night
smallpox is now in sight
soon the pandemic will rip through our town,
kill (all) our children and bring spirits down
quarantine is the key,
quarantine is the key

solemn plight, worry, fright
wailing songs, through the night
all the outhouses full to the brim,
life in the future looks pretty grim
don’t let cholera spread,
don’t let cholera spread

New Music to Blow Socks Off

One’s socks will have one’s feet burning if one listens to one song. Or so is my hope. I made this the other day and have been too lazy to upload it.

Enjoy responsibly.

New Mucis

My brother used to call it mucis (pronounced MOO-kis). That’s the explanation.

Now, for the content:

I have uploaded two new songs for your enjoyment.  They’re on my music page, and I’ll also put them here.  That makes eight songs for the album “Techno is for Angry Keyboards.  How many should I do?  Also, keep in mind that not all the songs uploaded are finished.  In fact, I don’t think I’ve really finished any of them.  So if you have any criticisms, I can incorporate your ideas before the final release.

116 Voices

It’s amazing what Youtube has created.  We have the ability to videoize anything.  Including an Eric Whitacre’s Virtual Choir event!  I’m in it!  Yay!  See if you can spot me among the 116 people…

Maybe Eric Whitacre himself will conduct the next one.

Well, here’s “Sleep” by the choir, then my video, in case you must watch my nervous “solo”.

A New Year Brings New Audio

I just know that you’re dying to hear something new. Well, I won’t disappoint you. If you go to my music page, you will find my digital audio class final project (not as good as my K.R.’s Place slushy maker story, in my opinion) and a new techno piece. Which I will put here, for all of you that are too lazy to visit the music page.

Digi-digi-dance!!!

I’ve put another techno song up, and I hope you like it. Head over to my music page and listen to “Digidance”, a happy techno tune (not nearly as hard as “Angry Keyboards”).  I’m also still working on it.  But, it is about 1:35 I think, so it’s long enough to be worth listening to.

In case you are wondering about the weird thing that happens near the end (it seems to shut down the song and restart), listen to it again.  See the differences before and after the “reboot”.  Tell me if you figure it out.  It’s pretty sweet.

Oh, and “Digidance” is pronounced with the beginning of the word “digital” and the word “dance”.
